My name is Noemy Esparza-Isaacson and I am running for Governing School Board member of Chandler Unified School District. I am originally from Las Cruces, NM but I have lived in Chandler, AZ for almost 20 years. My husband Paul and I are the proud parents of four amazing human beings. Our soon to be 21-year-old recently graduated from Chandler High School and our three younger children currently attend two of CUSD’s amazing schools. I am proud to be the daughter of immigrant parents and the first in my family to attend college. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration from New Mexico State University where I majored in Information Technology and minored in music. As an IT professional I have worked in several states with such companies as Texas Instruments, American Airlines, Intel, ON Semiconductor and Affiliated Computer Services. In addition to my IT work experience I possess a unique an eclectic dual career in music and visual arts. I feel lucky that in my lifetime I witnessed and participated in the merging of my two passions technology and music. I have a wonderful and full live in Chandler where my days consist of school drop-offs/pick-ups, growing my music and art business, and teaching Art and Spanish. I am often found on my children’s school campus volunteering for Art Masterpiece or volunteering in the classroom. In the past year I was fortunate enough to be chosen to be on the Parent Advisory Council which meets monthly with the District to discuss updates and changes within the school district. Being a representative of my children’s school in the Parent Advisory Council piqued my interest and I found myself wondering how I could get more involved in the community. It was then that I decided to run for CUSD Governing School Board. Education is my passion and as a self-proclaimed nerd I feel I would be a great addition to the current school board. I would also bring a fresh perspective due to my work experience and my eclectic background.
My platform is simple. Every child regardless of their background or socio-economic circumstances deserves access to an excellent education. They deserve an education that will prepare them to be productive, successful citizens and an environment that will boost their confidence and in turn encourage them to achieve their higher education goals. We have a plethora of school choices within CUSD and success is within the reach of students. What happens however when we cannot reach a student and external factors in a child’s life is affecting their success? Yes, our district outperforms all others when it comes to the percentage of funds spent in the classroom but are we addressing the need of all students? In my opinion teachers have not only the most challenging job but also the most important job and we need to do everything in our power to ensure that students, schools and teachers have everything they need for a successful classroom environment. Teachers shape our children’s future, but it is not a responsibility that should fall solely on their shoulders. It is a team effort between parents, teachers and the student. I am a product of a great public-school education and I strongly believe that students and families have quality choices within CUSD. There is always room for improvement however and I feel my eclectic background and experience both as a teacher of the arts and as an IT professional, would bring a new perspective to the board. I have ideas on Kinder preparedness, education technology, community fostered improvements, parent resources and a new approach on how our students and families could benefit from the natural synergy that can exist across schools. I believe our children deserve access to the latest technological resources, the most innovative teaching strategies and a safe learning environment both emotionally, academically and logistically.
I am proud to be a parent of CUSD students and would be honored to a serve as a member of the CUSD Governing School Board to ensure that our children continue to have excellent educational choices. I offer not only an innovative and fresh perspective but also bring a collaborative, positive and common-sense approach to discussions and school district issues. I humbly seek your support to have the privilege to be a voice for all students as a CUSD Governing School Board member. I am committed to the children of Chandler and their education goals.
I'd love to chat with you about my platform and why I wish to serve as Governing School Board Member. Send me an email or drop by one of my events!
